3.4.3 Acknowledgments

This final category captures remarks made by the leading team which do not fall neatly into the other two categories.  Generally, they are of only indirect relevance to a successful outcome of the learning task.

Affirmations (both positive and negative) (AFFIRML) for example, “Yez,walk until u saw a junc”, “Correct”, and [Is it here?] “No”
Affirmations are made in response to questions posed by the following team.  They serve as either confirmations or denials.  In the examples above, they are, respectively, “yes, walk until you see a junction”, “correct” and “no”.

Assurances and edifications (ASEDIFL) for example, “i tel u where to go after that” and “Aniway gd job”
These serve as moral supports to the following team.  In the examples above, they are, respectively, “I will tell you where to go next, once you have reached” and “anyway, good job”.

Declarations of lack of understanding (LKUSTDL) for example, “Wat talking u”
This straightforward sub-category, of course, includes any remark which indicates a lack of understanding on the part of the leading team.  The example above is, “what do you mean?”
